Well I am off! The day I’ve been dreaming about is finally here! I’ve packed my bags and said my goodbyes….and I’m ready for a 19 hour day of flying and sitting in airports!

But it’s that time…that moment every parent loves but extremely dislikes at the same time. Where they send their child off into the world hoping they raised them right. Hoping they will be safe and hoping their child will still call from time to time.
It’s that time where you look through the glass and wave goodbye to your parents, as you walk through airport security with tears in your eyes, looking back at your parents who have always always been there for you your WHOLE life. The time where you know your life is about to change forever and all you can do is smile and wave! A time where your parents do so much for you and thanking them just isn’t enough…well Mum and Dad I want you to know you both are wonderful! You’ve done a great job. Your love and support of my decision to join YWAM filled me with even more confidence. I know you may have some apprehensions but what parent wouldn’t as they send their child off to a somewhat unknown adventure. You did that because you love me and you know God will protect me. I love you both! Thank you for being the best parents and raising me to love God and love others! ❤️ I promise I’ll try to call as much as I can.
5:30 AM Pitts airport. A little early for my Mum:)
I say this a lot but it is SO true. I wouldn’t be who I am without my friends and family. My friends in South Carolina have supported and prayed for me and have been texting me all day telling me how excited they are for me. They changed my life in just 9 short months of knowing them. I don’t even know how to say thank you to that kind of friendship, but if you are reading this…thank you 🙂
To the rest of my friends back home. Thank you! I couldn’t have done this without you!! Each of you have this special place in my heart and I am beyond thankful. For those praying for me, that’s the best gift anyone could get. Prayer means the world to me. So thank you.
I have a question for you???
How much do you think a bible weighs?
Well I didn’t think much. But as I was checking in my luggage at the airport this morning the numbers on the scale read…53lbs. (Anything over 50 lbs. will cost you $100). So my mom pulls out my bible and the lady was like give me that book and she places it on the scale and there was the 3 pounds. They weighed my luggage again and it was exactly 50lbs. As we were walking away my mom said, “what a great story that will be.” She’s right.
Oh and yes I still took it anyway my backpack was just a little heavier:)
Please continue to pray for me as I am for you! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the prayers ❤️
Acts 9:15 “Go for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, Kings and the Children of Israel.” -my Mum shared this verse with me and I thought I would share it with you! 🙂 Notice the chapter and verse number…that’s today 9/15:)
Lots of love,
Rachel 😊
