My Week Update

It has been a long week for me as I am getting into the treatments more and more. One thing I have noticed from the past two weeks of getting treatment is a little bit more energy. I used to feel so tired under my eyes and that feeling has gone away. (Praise God)

Some things I have noticed that have gotten worse is my hair falling out (I joked and quoted to Jeremy the other day from the movie Bride Wars that I’m going to be a bald bride), brain fog and acne.

The past week was really up and down for me as far as symptoms go; just as the doctor said it was going to be.

On Tuesday this week I had what is called an IRAD. (Insulin Receptor Antibiotic Delivery) This is the description they gave me for what happens. This is every Tuesday I get this done until I leave.

“The procedure you are about to receive will intentionally lower your blood sugar using insulin. The amount of insulin used is based on your body weight, Hemoglobin Alc, and fasting blood sugar. Symptoms you may experience with low blood sugar include shaking, sweating, dizziness, extreme hunger, impaired vision, irritability, fatigue, and anxiety. Not everyone experiences symptoms of low blood sugar; your experience may be different than those symptoms listed. During the time that your blood sugar is dropping a member of our staff will remain with you. YOUR CASE IS OUR PRIORITY.
Following the procedure, it is important that your blood sugar goes back up to a stable level. You will be given an intravenous bag of solution that will help temporarily raise your blood sugar.”

For me, I did not have any bad symptoms. PRAISE GOD. So thank you for all who were praying, I know it helped. I went in hungry from not eating much that morning and was a bit shaky. Throughout my time there and getting the insulin I felt the same shaky and hungry having no other symptoms.

Wednesday I had another Heliobosh treatment (that is also every Wednesday) which is where they take out a cup of blood, clean it and put in Oxygen 3, then put it back. Last week I felt more energy. This week I noticed a little more energy but with getting more into my treatments I am noticing my fatigue more and more.

Herxheimer Reaction.

For those who detox from Lyme most always have this. I call it Herxing as that is easier to say and remember. It always feels like a really really bad case of the flu. Body chills, fever, bad body ache, and a skin rash. I’ve gone through this before so know what to expect. They say that week three I might start to feel these symptoms as the antibiotics start to do their job and kill the Lyme. As the Herxing happens the antibiotics are killing the Lyme in your blood stream hense, the pain all throughout the body.

Thursday I had what was called a Clean Colonic. Colon Hydrotherapy or Colonic is for cleansing, removal of fecal matter, or to relieve constipation in the Large Intestines. Yes this was very out of my comfort zone and all I am going to say about that, as you could imagine how this sort of thing would go. Feel free to google it. CleanColonic.com

I am so thankful to everyone for your support, prayers, texts, and letters you have sent. I couldn’t have done this on my own and still can’t so keep those prayers coming, please!

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Things to be Praying for:

  • As I start to dive into more of the intense treatments, that my body and mind can handle all of this.
  • That the herxing isn’t as bad as I remember.
  • I have been very homesick lately and miss Jeremy terribly.

Praises:

  • Jeremy comes on Wednesday!!!
  • My IRAD didn’t go bad
  • My dad surprised me and sent flowers 🙂
