To start with one of my favorite verses:
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
I had a wonderful week with my fiancé, Jeremy. We were both there for each other on the hard day that would have been our wedding, June 8th.
As for an update with my health. The antibiotics are working!! This has been such an answer to lots and lots of prayers. God is listening and my body is healing. I had a really really rough week as I will for the next month. But below talks more about how I’m feeling.
Now with the antibiotics working this causes severe pain and discomfort to my body. I started new antibiotics on Monday that I will start getting every Monday. Each day of the week is the same the following week, which is nice and makes it easy to remember. Friday I started new treatment. Below is what Envita is saying about that treatment. They can explain what’s going on a lot better then I can 🙂
Next-Level Detoxing
“Just killing the infection is not enough because sometimes their die-off may trigger additional symptoms, making detoxing a critical part of the treatment process, in most cases. We clean and filter the blood through specialized cartridges used in a technologically advanced filtration system. Our detoxing process is designed to help filter and flush out any toxins, molds, heavy metals, and potentially any die-off of Lyme co-infections. The die-off can release neurotoxins into the body, which causes a Herxheimer reaction, a condition when symptoms worsen due to infection die-off. Flushing out the toxins helps reduce chances of herxing. These toxins decrease the efficacy of pain medications, as they compete for the same receptor sites in your brain. Flushing out the toxins helps patients respond better to pain medications which are helpful in relieving certain symptoms of Lyme disease. Biofilms protect the pathogens from the effect of oral antibiotics, which is why we strip them off with integrative agents, optimizing the impact of medicines.”
As my week with Jeremy came to an end I am beyond grateful to him. He deserves a HUGE shoutout for best fiancé and soon to be husband! God definitely chose Jeremy to stand by my side during this time. He has shown just that through the past few months of me not feeling good. I was very depressed when I first got here and just mad. As my mom puts it, the morning before Jeremys arrival I had skip to my step and was so happy. Jeremy was the best medicine I could have received. He was by my side day and night and even took me to my appointments. But don’t worry he found a goodwill store (which he loves) and got to hangout there while I was in my treatment, for hours.
God is not done with me yet and I can feel Him working on my body. It might not be in my timing but I am learning each day that God has a plan for me. It might not go the way I want but He can see the ending as I cannot.
Philippians 2:12-13 “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
Things to be Praying for:
- I ask that you pray for Jeremy’s trip home. He left today (Monday) headed back to PA.
- My port has been bothering me so prayers that the pain and discomfort in that can go away.
- As crazy as this sounds please keep praying for the herxing, the pain I am having is good and meaning the Lyme is dying.
- I meet with my doctor on Friday-praying for a good appointment and things are going the way he wants.
Praises:
- Seeing Jeremy for the week
- Setting a date for our wedding 🙂
- Having a really good talk about our faith with my nurse, Alyssa

Dear Rachel & Molly~Bob & I read your posts & are so encouraged with this latest entry. I have been praying for God’s healing & successful treatments/results. It’s hard to see you have to go through all of this but I know you are willing, with faith & hopes of a healthier future. I talk w/Brenda often & she briefs me also. Rachel, you are such a brave young lady & your parents are both awesome, just willing to do what they can do for all of their children. Keep on being strong in body & faith & we pray it’s God’s will that you & Jeremy are married soon & enjoy a healthy happy future together. Jeremy is quite the devoted young man . He will be a wonderful husband. We are looking forward to your return home & your family can all be together again. We think of you both often. You are all such great neighbors.
Love, “Mrs. Lockwood”.
BTW~I got a chuckle out of your comment about thinking it was cool to know “the lunch lady”. I didn’t realize I was a celebrity! So sweet.
