Thursday I had my final treatment and rang the bell. 🔔 I still have a long way to go but I’m excited to be “finally” going home. After getting treatment and ringing the bell I left to get my perm-a-cath out. The doctor who took it out said it was the best he has seen all week. Meaning I took extra good care of the area over the past two months. (I guess with it being an open wound it can get easily infected).
I had a very relaxing day on Friday. It was my first day I didn’t have treatment during the week and I loved it! My chest hurt a little from having a hole in my chest, but it will heal in time. I am just glad to have the perm-a-cath out.
As I process coming home I am reminded that I am not the same person I was when I left 2 months ago. I am so much stronger (definitely mentally not physically). I’m about 60% better so still have some work to do. I’m going to be tired and in pain, but I am determined to finish strong and kick this Lyme’s butt! 🥊
I don’t know why bad things happen but what I do know is my faith becomes deeper and my love for God is so much stronger. I still have moments where I question God but I am human and don’t want to be sick anymore (heck who does).
So please pray for:
- the next few months for me (and Jeremy) as I start taking the antibiotics
- The pain in my back and to gain energy
- My mom and I as we travel back to PA TODAY! 😍
