I went to a wedding this weekend for two of my good friends and during the maid of honor’s speech she said something that really stood out and made me think. She was talking about the bride but I felt her talking right to me. She said if you have a problem or are struggling in life you should ask God for help. But why do we get so caught up with complaining and asking everyone and their mother for help but not God? We call ourselves Christians and go to church but is it all for show? Is it because we can’t verbally hear God? Or do we not want the answers we know God will give us? I know we are all human, but these are just some thoughts that were going through my head on my drive home. Why can I take advice from my earthly father but not even listen to my Heavenly Father? Why?
As I’ve mentioned on my blogs before I’ve really struggled with my faith the past few years. I haven’t figured out why it’s always been a struggle for me. I’ve come up with excuses over excuses from my health to not in the mood to read my Bible. One thing I do know is I love God with EVERY bone in my body and after the wedding I realized one thing…I want my relationship with God to not only be “till death do us part” but “till death do us forever and ever with God in Heaven!” I want the death part to be eternal.
The wedding was not only beyond beautiful, but it was fully focused on their love for each other and most importantly their love for God. As it should be. Weddings should be focused on 3 things.
- God
- Groom
- Bride

I was looking up some Bible verses for leaning on God and the first one that popped up was Isaiah 41:10. If you know me you know when my grandmother passed away someone sent me this verse and it has been my life verse since. I’ve memorized it and have on my bedside table to look at first thing in the morning.
Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
It’s okay to be scared and get advice from others. But it is NOT okay to NOT go to Him in times of need. God does not want us to be afraid. He is ALWAYS with us. (Even right now)
Trust God.
Isaiah 21:2 “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” This verse says, “I will trust and not be afraid.” TRUST. That’s all it takes. Faith, Trust, and a little Pixie Dust. 😉
Find time today, find time tomorrow. I’ll let you in on a little secret…You have 24 hours in a day which means you have 3 times a day to find time to eat. To nourish you and to give you the energy you need for the day. Guess what?! You can do the same with reading God’s Word. You can, find the time to read His Word.
Oh and TRUST me this is hitting me in the gut just as it is you because I know that I don’t find the time. I make excuses just as you do. If you are becoming weak, go and fill up on God’s protein.
Go…TRUST His Word and make disciples along the way!
Love your posts. Very inspiring to encourage our faith walk daily ❤️
